LARRY SPENCER

Larry Spencer's trumpet plays a rich tapestry of styles: classical, pop, rock, latin and jazz.

Larry moved to Texas in 1977 from Columbus, Ohio, where he attended Capital University Conservatory of Music. While at Capital University, Larry studied with Ray Eubanks, and enjoyed playing principal trumpet in the orchestra, lead and solo trumpet in the jazz band, first cornet in the wind ensemble and brass choir, as well as performing in numerous faculty recitals. Off campus, he was fortunate to work with Eubanks' well-known "Jazz Arts Group", playing concerts with Tom Scott, Oliver Nelson, Randy and Michael Brecker, Frank Foster, Ernie Wilkins, Manny Album, Clark Terry, and many others.

In 1977, Mr. Spencer enrolled at the University of North Texas and became a member of the famed 1:00 Lab Band, appearing on "Lab '78". He also performed in the graduate brass quintet.

From 1985-1988, Larry played first trumpet at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, Texas. He was a featured soloist at the 1987 International Electronic Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.
